The days of heat, sun and terrace nights are coming. And who doesn't like to go out and enjoy this time, sharing it with friends and family? Spending quality time with your loved ones is important, but it's just as important, or more so, to take care of yourself inside and out to have a health of 10.
At Punto Blanco we care about your health, that's why we want to give you some advice that will surely come in handy for these days of intense heat.
The first advice is also the most typical, and that is that the experts recommend drinking plenty of water during the hottest days, as it is a way to keep the body hydrated in so much sun and thus avoid heat strokes. Because excessive temperatures are extremely dangerous, especially for children and the elderly, we recommend that if you have to leave the house throughout the day, carry a bottle of water with you in your bag, rucksack or fanny pack.
It is important not to spend many hours in the sun and much less in the most dangerous hours, that is, at noon. Excessive exposure can cause great damage to our skin in addition to general discomfort.
At this point we also want to make clear the importance of using sunscreens, since UVA and UVB solar rays can change the structure of our skin and cause spots, burns, wrinkles, freckles and subsequently skin cancer.
This does not it does not mean that it is bad to sunbathe, but it is really important to take care of the skin when we expose it. The sun is important for our health because it helps us to form vitamin D, but the bad thing is to take it in excess or without protection.
Have a diet with foods that replenish our mineral salts and water is also very important. The summer menu should include light foods such as fruit and vegetables, as well as fish, pasta and legumes. The goal is to provide nutrients that are easy to digest for our body. For example, a salad, in addition to being light, can be a very complete dish if we add chicken, cheese or tuna. Abundant meals, especially if they are accompanied by some type of alcoholic drink, increase the risk of suffering from problems associated with high temperatures: indigestion, dehydration, etc.
Finally, it is very important to protect our eyes from the sun with appropriate glasses, but even so, it is not recommended to look directly into the sun even with glasses.
