Let's leave 2017 behind and, like every new year, enter 2018 with excitement, a desire to learn and improve and, above all, to set ourselves new challenges and goals to fulfill them. But let's stop for a moment to think. But will we really manage to achieve all these ambitious goals by the end of the year? Why don't we set realistic goals that we can achieve little by little?
Following this guideline, we plan to start the year in healthy mode. How? Very easy, we'll explain it below.
First of all, the essential thing to do this New Year's challenge correctly is to clean out the fridge and the pantry and get rid of all the not so good or not so healthy food, so that there is no temptation nearby when we feel this moment of weakness.
Make a list of the things you think you are doing wrong and could improve, and another with what you would like to achieve with this change.
The next step is to go to the supermarket to buy everything you need. It is important to keep in mind that 90% of what we should have in the fridge must be of natural origin. We will mainly buy fruit, vegetables, vegetables, whole grains, etc. And we will have to reduce refined flours such as pastries, sugars and industrially obtained proteins.
When starting this new stage we must go gradually, step by step. For example, in the first week we will adapt to eating without refined flours and sugars. The second, we will start to increase the intake of vegetables. And so, until we adapt to the new diet.
It is important to highlight the number of times we should eat the different food groups per week:
- Vegetables, once a day.
- Meat and fish, 2 to 3 times a week.
- Fruits, 2 pieces a day are recommended.
- Dairy products, every day a yogurt or a glass of milk or a portion of cheese.
- Eggs and sausages, at most 2 times a week.
- The recommended amount of water per day is 1.5 to 3 liters per day.
After seeing all these guidelines and following the percentage of foods that are important to eat per week, we can say that our healthy living challenge is almost complete. We would only need to fulfill one fundamental requirement, physical exercise. All our lives we have been told the importance of doing sport from a young age and it is really very important to combine a healthy diet with a daily physical exercise of at least 30 minutes.
