At Punto Blanco we have always prized the quality of our products. In 1948 we embarked on a long journey that has taken us to this moment, in which our products stand out above all for the quality obtained from each piece. And this quality is especially noticeable in our star product: socks.
The cotton we use in its production is obtained from threads of the highest quality. Some of the processes that cotton goes through to reach this final finish are combing and gassing.
These processes have the following functions:
- Separation and elimination of short fibers.Since medium and short fibers are the most "low quality".
- Regular placement of the fibers.
- Afterwards, the surface fibers of the thread are burned to increase their properties and obtain a more regular thread.
- The thread, once gassed, leaves a cleaner and more polished image of the surface.
Once these two processes have been carried out, the cotton obtains greater resistance, since there are only long fibers in the thread. Short fibers, on the contrary, always tend to weaken the garment and therefore make it less durable. With these processes, the Punto Blanco garments acquire greater resistance, therefore, in this type of fabric, lint will be non-existent or very minor. Look that similar pieces from the competition do not have, made with short threads and lower cost processes that result in simple pieces of lower quality.
In addition, at Punto Blanco we finish many of our pieces with a special process called mercerization. This increases the strength of the garment by over 50% adding an incredible shine to the thread.

- It is resistant to wear.
As we have seen, the cotton treatment at Punto Blanco has a long process that makes the products of greater quality, durability and resistance which, added to an expert and creative design, result in authentic catwalk pieces.
